A PIFA Partner, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Opens New Exhibit

One of the Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts' (PIFA) cultural partners, Philadelphia Museum of Art, is preparing to open its next special exhibition, Capucci: Art into Fashion. The exhibit at the museum opens to the public March 16th and runs until June 5th. That means Cupucci: Art into Fashion will be on display during the entire length of the art festival this spring, April 7- May 1st.
Luckily, I don’t have to wait until March 16th to see the exhibit! A preview of Roberto Cupucci, Italian fashion designer's exhibit opens next Friday on March 11th to members of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. I have been a member of the museum for the past three years and I always have a great time every time I go there.
My favorite on-going event at the museum is Art after 5, an art infused happy hour at Philadelphia Museum of Art Fridays 5:00 p.m – 8:45 p.m. It’s a great way to start your weekend while seeing the museum like you have never seen it before. The space turns into a bar with live music. Plus many exhibits remain open to go on a self-guided tour to get your dose of art for the night. So, on Friday, March 11th I am going to get to enjoy Art after 5 and the special exhibit all in the same night. Adam Cruz is a New York based drummer, composer and bandleader who will be performing next Friday. The music talent changes every week so check out the calendar of events and maybe I’ll see you there. Plan ahead for a weekend during PIFA!

Check back soon for another sneak peak at the Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts (PIFA), witch will take place 4/7/11 - 5/1/11.
