LUNGevity Foundation presents Breathe Deep Philadelphia this Sunday, September 25th 8:30 am – 11:30 am in Northern Liberties.  Come out for a 3K walk to help raise funds for lung cancer research.  It’s not too late to sign up! Breathe Deep is a family-friendly event so bring the kids too.  Strollers, wheelchairs and even dogs are all welcomed on the leisure walking route.   There will be exciting activities for children including a Kid’s Zone and a face painter from Northern Liberties Tattoo.  The event will also be awarding top fundraisers with prizes so start asking your friends, family and co-works to support your efforts.
The event will begin at the Piazza at Schmidts on North 2nd Street and Germantown Ave. in Philadelphia.  Click here to view a map of the Piazza at Schmidts and the surrounding area.
If you can’t make the event you still have a chance to make a difference! “HOPE” rings are being sold with 50% of the proceeds are going to be donated back to the event. These cute dainty rings are a great reminder that there is always hope even on the darkest of days. They make great gifts for friends and loved ones.
The HOPE rings are sold on by Jessica Trovato. She was inspired to do something to help research for lung cancer after her father, Elio Trovato, lost the battle to lung cancer a few years ago. I never got a chance to meet him but I feel like I already know so much about him because of the wonderful stories my friend, Pamela Trovato, has shared about him.
This event is one that is close to my heart because I know how lung cancer has changed the Trovato family forever.  His memory lives on in his family but unfortunately he did not live long enough to meet his grandson who was just born this past winter.  They even named their son after him! Please help prevent other families from facing the devastations of lung cancer by signing up for Breathe Deep Philadelphia now!
