Center City Sips Brings Midweek Happiness
Looking for a way to sample some of Center City’s hottest spots this Summer? Then mark your calendar for Wednesday happy hours starting tomorrow June 1st – August 31st. From 5p.m-7p.m you can take advantage of the city’s best deal- 4-3-2. That’s $4 cocktails, $3 wine, $2 beers and half-priced appetizers. I have been sipping my way through many of Philly’s bars and restaurants for the past few summers so I have some tips for you new comers. Get there as close to 5p.m as possible and always have a back up bar in mind just in case a big crowd is at your first pick. If you in a large group try to let the bartender know so that you can all get served at the same time.
Pick your spot based on the weather! Many of the bars and restaurants on the list offer outdoor seating. If you thing the weather is fair enough to enjoy it Al Fresco just remember you are not the only one in the city with this idea, so get there early! By 5:30 seating gets very limited. A few of my favorite places on the CCD Sips list that offer outdoor seating are: Mexican Post (try the margaritas), Tir Na Nog (check out their Beer Week specials) and Marathon at 1818 Market Street
Most important just relax and enjoy Philly in the Spring and Summertime. No matter how crowded the bars are it’s still going to be much more pleasant than shoveling your car out of the snow so just enjoy this time while it lasts! ;)
