Tang Thai Restaurant Spices Up Roxborough

Tang Thai Restaurant in Roxborough is a great place to go for an affordable Thai meal.  There are not many Thai places in the Manayunk/Roxborough area so this neighborhood BYOB gem really stands out to me. The restaurant is located at 6190 Ridge Ave and is the former home to a burger joint so the decor is not exactly what you may expect in a Thai restaurant.  Once you look past the black and white checker tile floor and focus on the ornate decorations you will find that the traditional Thai menu really fits right in.

The best deal on the menu is the three course $9.95 lunch special.  For just under ten bucks you can enjoy a soup, an appetizer and a main dish. My favorites are the spring rolls and shrimp or chicken pad thai or chicken basil for the main course.  Some photos are below.  Of course we dug right into our main entree without getting photos but I know we will be back and will post more soon.

Don't forget to bring a bottle of wine because they don't serve alcohol. The also offer take out and delivery so if you don't want to leave home they can bring it to you. Cheer and enjoy!
