Dine for a Cause to Stop MS
Dine for a cause at two Philadelphia restaurants, OPA and Ms. Tootsies’s - and join Megan R. Smith of Brownstone PR to raise funds for the local chapter of National MS Society. On Tuesday, August 23rd OPA, a new Greek restaurant, will be donating 10% of their proceeds. Stop in during your lunch break, enjoy happy hour with friends or make reservations for dinner. Also the following week on Tuesday, August 30th Ms. Tootsie’s Soul Food CafĂ© is donating 10% of their profits to this worthy cause. If you cannot make it to the restaurants you still have a chance to make a donation online by visiting http://main.nationalmssociety.org/eventdonation, and typing in 'Megan R. Smith', listed as part of the 2011 MS Leadership Class.
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) affects more than 13,000 families in the Greater Delaware Valley and currently 400,000 Americans are diagnosed with the disease that attaches the central nervous system. Being diagnosed with MS changes people’s lives forever but we have the chance to help through National MS Society. This disease has many stages and will effect the way the patients moves and walk and the worst part is they never knowing what will happen next.
There is no know cause or cure for MS but much research has been done over the years and the MS Society funds more research and provides more services than any other non profit in the world.
I’m proud to say that I have directly helped out the cause in the past by participating in the MS 150 City to Shore bike ride. The past two years I have road my bicycle 75 miles from Cherry Hill to Ocean City New Jersey. This year I am unable to make this annual trek on my bike but I plan to dine for a cause instead. If you love putting miles on your road bike you should sign up for the MS150 City to Shore bike ride on September 23-24. It’s over a month away so you have plenty of time to get a safety inspection on your bike and raise money to support the MS Society. The fun rest stops along the way are complete with water stations, snacks, live music and motivating volunteers to remind riders of the great reason they are riding; to find a cure for MS!
Thank you in advance for contributing to the MS Society to help researchers find a cure for this devastating disease. Every dollar counts!
