Countdown to Philly Beer Week
With the unofficial start of summer already behind us, Memorial
Day Weekend, we can plan our favorite summertime activities in Philly! One of
my favorites is only three days away- Philly Beer Week (PBW)! It is a ten day
celebration of brews in the city of brotherly love that kicks off on Friday,
June 1st continuing until Sunday June 10th! Beer Week is a fun time to taste different
locally brewed and imported beer to toast to the long summer days to come. Start
planning now so you don’t miss a pint. A few of my favorite Beer Week activities
are listed below. Cheers!
June 1st 7pm-10pm Opening Tap at the Independence
Visitor Center kicks off the festivities with great beer, live music and more.
Word on the street is that Ben Franklin and Mayor Nutter will be there for the
official start of PBW! If you purchase
VIP tickets you can come early at 6:30 for an hour of an exclusive tasting
session and food pairings. Buy your Opening Tap tickets today!
June 2nd 12pm – 5pm International Great Beer Expo at the
Navy Yard offers beer drinkers unlimited samples of different beers from around
the world all in one place! There are
still general admission and designated driver tickets available online for the beer festival. Get
more details here: www.greatbeerexpo.com/philly/
June 4-8th 5pm – 9pm Try Victory Brewing Company’s Summer Love Ale at the
With Love Beer Garden at the Four Seasons outdoor courtyard. This is back by
popular demand after tapping the idea of a seasonal beer garden last year at
the Four Seasons Hotel at Logan Square.
