Artful Streets of South Philadelphia
I’m counting down for the annual Magic Beyond the Gardens
fundraiser gala to support Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens’ (PMG) educational
programs on Saturday, September 22. The
gala’s name comes from the philosophy that the support of the community in South
Philly surrounding the Gardens is crucial to the longevity of the organization.
Also, it’s a reminder that Isiah Zagar’s masterpieces can be
found throughout the streets of the city! He is the founding artist and is
still continuing to work every day at age 73. He is a very inspiring person to
be around. You have the chance to meet him at the Magic Beyond the Gardens so
don’t miss this opportunity!
The mosaicked labyrinth
space at 1020 South Street is home to the non-profit organization that opens its
doors to the public but the artwork that the non-profit works to preserve are scattered
around the city. This photo collage features some mosaic morals in South
Philly.
