All Eyes on the Bride: Royal Wedding

Prince William and Miss Catherine Middleton's wedding is going to take place in about four hours.  I plan to be asleep much sooner so that is why I'm posting this now.  In the morning I will watch the Today show with the recap.  After I worked in the wedding industry for a few years I can't just ignore the media buzz that surrounds the Royal Wedding in the headlines! Our invitation is via Meredith Vieira, and Matt Lauer among the other networks.  The media have it all covered! I'm clearly not as dedicated as the fans are camping out outside Westminster Abby.  The one thing that I’m looking forward to most is very cliché but it's Kate's wedding gown!  I wonder if she watches "Say Yes to the Dress".

The Royal wedding is not just going to be making history it is also going to be making fashion trends.  This style is going to mark a new trend no matter what it looks like!  Will it be Sexy?  Simple? Sophisticated? Or Inspired by Princess Diana? We will just have to wait and see but I’m almost positive she will be wearing a hat of some sort along with a crown.

This past winter I was working for Conde Nast’s Brides Local Magazine and Brides.com.   I represented them by going to different bridal shows and I learned a lot about the wedding industry and what brides want.  Most brides all have one thing in common; they want to look fabulous! That is because they know all eyes are on them.  The world will be watching soon-to-be-Princess Catherine’s walk down the aisle for the service at Westminster Abbey.  There will be two choirs, one orchestra and two fanfare teams will perform the music at the Wedding Service of Prince William and Miss Catherine Middleton at Westminster Abbey on April 29th. This looks more like a PIFA lineup instead of a wedding ceremony! Those who will perform are:
The Choir of Westminster Abbey
The Chapel Royal Choir

The London Chamber Orchestra

The Fanfare Team from the Central Band of the Royal Air Force
The State Trumpeters of The Household Cavalry

I'm not engaged but I have four weddings already on my calendar for 2011. I like to get ideas of what to wear and of course, what not to wear as a guest!  Hats are huge this season, both in popularity and in size!  I love hats but I don't think you will find me with a large brimmed hat at a friend's wedding.

The only hat I'm looking forward to wear soon is my Phillies baseball cap my friend gave me for my birthday! It is navy blue and it has a pink "P" embroidered on the front of it.  This Saturday I have a ticket to the Mets vs. Phillies game at 1p.m and don't worry it will be over in time for me to get over to Broad Street for the PIFA Street Fair.  Ironically I'm going with a Mets fan to the game.  My friend from home is dating a Mets fan and I'm a former/bandwagon Yankees fan.  Someone once called me a "New Jersey Flip-Flop Fan” meaning that I seem to only cheer for who is either winning the game or who is the home team.  I just really like to have a good time cheering on a good baseball game no matter whose name is on the scoreboards!
This is the hat that I have!
Here is the recap: Royal wedding, Phillies vs. Mets, PIFA Street Fair! What a great weekend ahead of us. To make it even better I might become an Aunt!  My sister is due with her baby boy.  I’ll keep you posted on that one too!  Have a great weekend!
