Buddakan: Restaurant Week Dinner

Last night I enjoyed a fabulous dinner with some of my close friends for Philadelphia’s Center City Restaurant Week. We dined at Buddakan and had a great time laughing together over a tasty three course meal. Their special Restaurant Week menu features some of their best dishes. Buddakan is part of the Starr Restaurant Group and I have never had a bad meal there before.

The service was impeccable. We were greeted by friendly hostess as soon as we walked in and had a drink at the bar while we waited for our table because we were early. Every table was full so you really need reservations! I had a signature cocktail called Strength and it was delicious. It was Kettle One Vodka, lime and cilantro- perfect blend of tangy citrus with the undertones of cilantro.
The pictures really speak for themselves so scroll down and then make a reservation!  We ate the first dish too fast before we could get snapshots of them but I highly recommend the Shrimp and Scallop Spring Rolls and the Chicken and Ginger Dumplings.

Crispy Sea Bream
mandarin miso, Japanese pickles, shishito peppers

Mongolian Beef Short Rib
chow fun noodles, pea shoots, shiitake mushrooms

Chilean Seabass
black truffle jus, kohlrabi puree, maitake mushrooms

Barbeque Pork Tenderloin
Chinese broccoli, giant panko onion rings

Crying Chocolate
warm chocolate cake with a soft center, Vietnamese coffee ice cream

“Dip Sum” Doughnuts
five spice sugar doughnuts, blackberry jam, chocolate sauce, gingered cream cheese
