Savory Seafood at Fish Restaurant in Philadelphia

Fish Restaurant has been around since 2009 but this past January they moved to a new location in Philly and I recently went to finally check it out. It is now in the Independence Hotel on Locust Street between 12th and 13th streets. It’s easy to walk right past it but there is a little sign on the glass door under the black awning that says Fish. This is place you don't want to miss!

I enjoyed my birthday dinner with my boyfriend at Fish and had a fabulous time. The service was so friendly and the food was fresh and full of flavors.  If you love seafood you will love the menu selections plus there is a shirt steak on the menu for meat lovers.

To our surprise our server brought out six East Coast Oysters compliment of the chef! We normally don’t eat raw oysters but these were like no others we have ever tasted. They were served with diced beets on top giving it a sweet flavor and a different texture. We also were served a dish of the soft shell crabs compliment of the chef! How great is that? They didn't even know it was my birthday.

We ordered two appetizers to start the meal off; Crispy Calamari with Roman Style Artichoke and Black Olive Aloli and Shrimp Remoulade, Chile Oil. Both of these dishes had many layers of flavors that made every bite pleasantly unique.

Next up were our two entrees, Skate Wing and Stripped Bass. The presentation of the plates was much more impressive in person than in these photos show.
I highly recommend this restaurant!
